For You On Easter

I'm loving the pink and brown...  I purchased this cute flowered paper at the Scrapbook Expo this past weekend and couldn't wait to use it.  We had a good time looking through all those booths for the perfect paper, stamps, die cuts, etc.  I spent a little more than I wanted to but I couldn't help myself, they had sooo many fun things!  Thank goodness they only have it twice a year.  Actually once a year might be safer for me. :)  I know exaclty who will be getting this Easter box.  Oh yeah, I filled it with chocolate and caramel Easter eggs for them, shh.... yummy!  I can't believe Easter is only a few days away.

Lavender Bunny Easter Pouch

Another Easter project...  I hadn't seen this Easter bunny stamped in any other color besides brown.  I wondered how it would look in another color, so I tried lavendar lace.   I made this little pouch using the Big Shot, top note.  I attached the bunny to a tootsie roll and tied the ribbon around it to hold it together.  I thought this would make a good boy gift, then I realized I put a flower on it.  Oops!   I only have daughters so I'm use to making girly things and struggle a little when it comes to boy gifts.

Easter Box

There's only one week until Easter so I want to start showing all my Easter projects. :) My sweet friend gave me the pattern for this box.  I did adjust the pattern a little so I would only need one sheet of 12 x 12 paper. The dimensions are 5 x 3 x 1 1/2 .  It's much easier than I originally expected.  The hardest part was deciding which paper to use.   I was a little unsure about brown and pink for Easter but I like it, what do you think?  Hmmm....now I'm thinking the hardest part may be what to put inside.  :)

Scalloped, Happy Easter Card

This is the card I'll be giving the ladies who placed a Stampin' Up! order with me this week.  I know some of you will see this before you get your own so I hope you like it and, I hope you have a Happy Easter!  A friend of mine showed me a card she made with the chocolate Easter bunny and I loved how it looked when it was embossed, so that's what I did.  It looks like it's really made of chocolate...to bad it isn't.  The grass was made using a stamp from an older set, "All the Best."  I don't think it's a grass stamp but it's grass on my card. :)  If you didn't already figure it out the card is made with the bigz die, scallop circle.

"Baskets & Blooms" Easter Basket

This Easter basket was made with the Stampin' Up!, bigz xl die, baskets & blooms.  Normally this basket is round but I wanted to try something a little different.  I used the two pieces that normally form the round basket, then cut a little off the bottom of each one because they wouldn't sit flat with the arch on them.  I "slowly" created my own piece for the sides and bottom to make it a flat basket.  It's about an inch in depth, but you can make it as deep as you'd like. There was plenty of trial and error, but it turned out the way I wanted it to.

Three In One Birthday Card

Last night my card group got together and this is the card I created for them to make.  In my card group, we each bring a card we've created and all the supplies needed for each person to make a card of their own. This time I made a gift card holder.  The great thing about this is, it's a birthday card, it  holds a treat and the gift card all in one.  It's like killing three birds with one stone. :)  I put two small hershey candy bars in a small cellophane bag on one side and the gift card in a cellophane bag on the other side.  I simply used ribbon to tie it closed.

Happiness Flower Card

These flowers are so popular right now.  I've seen them made with fabric, paper and different types of die cuts and punches. For this flower I punched out 5 scallop circles and a small flower, then wrinkled each one individually.  I just smashed them up in my hand. Then, I layered them together and created my own brad to put through them.  Once you attach it to the card you'll need to fluff it until you get the look you want. If you make them with fabric they look great on purses.   I think I'll get my girls involved next time and we'll make hair clips. Can you just imagine all the fun things you can do with these..... :)

Water Can-Milk Carton

So, I heard they were turning the mini milk carton into water cans and thought I would give it a try.  This is what I came up with.  The significant change is adding a handle.  I used silver paper, just for fun.  I have no idea why I had this little shovel but isn't it the cutest next to the can? :)  I think this would make a great party favor for a summer party or picnic.  I'd put a real flower in it and place one on each guests plate.  Wouldn't that be fun to take home.... Now if we can only get the weather to cooperate.

Gum Wrapper

Ok, so who doesn't like gum, besides me? Here is a fun way to make something as simple as gum, fun and festive.  You can use the original gum cover as a template or just wing it, like I did.  You will need to put a tab on the gum so it makes it easier to pull out, and fun at the same time. :)  Glue dots or staples will hold the tab in place. I layered three different flower punches and a button to create the flower on this.  If I liked gum, I'd carry this in my purse just because it's cute!   Hmmm.... I should carry it, just to offer my cute gum to others. :)

Easter Envelope

This is a quick little Easter project.   It's made using a  2  1/2 X 4  1/4  glassine envelope.  I also used Eggcoutrements stamp set and certainly celery ribbon to create this cute Easter treat. The pink and green give it that perfect, "Easter" look, I wanted.  But, this project can be changed and created for any holiday or occasion.  And... who wouldn't love the M&Ms it's filled with!

Kindness Card

I actually surprised myself with this card... I used several different stamp sets and techniques on it.  Even though it's not my usual style of card making, I'm happy with the way it looks.  It took long to create but I think the result was worth the time and effort.  I'll have to step outside my comfort zone more often.

March Meeting Projects

Last night I went to a Stampin' Up! meeting and these are the projects we made. Of course our business topics came first, then the stamping...  We made this adorable, two page 6 X 6 scrapbook page and this fun post-it note holder.  She did such a great job designing these, I had to share...  We used some stamps and die cuts I don't have and thought I could probably do without.  Wrong, now I "need" them.  Isn't that how it always is... you see a set you think you can do without until someone comes up with a great way of using it.  Then, you just have to have it!  Just a few more things to add to my wish list. :)

Birthday box and giftcard

We've had several birthdays in the last few weeks so I've had to make several birthday projects.  This is the Stampin'Up!, bitty box and envelope, bigz xl die.  I punched a hole in the top of the box so the chocolate could peek through.  Both projects are so quick and easy to assemble and can be used in so many fun ways.  I'm sure I'll be posting more projects using this die.  I love this little box and it's little matching envelope!

Birthday Tin

A good friend asked me to come up with an idea for this tin, so I hope she likes this... The fun thing about this is the vase on the cover.  It's done with the Stampin' Up! ornament punch.  I saw this on another web-site and thought it was such a creative way to use it.  I was so excited to learn I could use my punch for something other than an ornament.  I'm sure it won't be long before another person will come up with another fun way to use it.  I love all these creative minds.... :)

St. Patrick's Day Matchbox

I made the carrot for Easter and skipped over St. Patrick's Day.  I wasn't sure I wanted to make a St. Patrick's Day project.  This holiday doesn't have the selection the other holidays do.  But, I finally decided as long as I used green I was good to go.... So for this project I used the Stampin' Up! Bigz XL die matchbox.  I used green designer series paper to make the bottom of the box and clear paper I found at the scrapbook store for the cover.  I like that it's covered but you can still see the treat...  The clover was made with four small punched hearts.  I don't normally do any St. Patrick's Day projects but this was a fun little challenge.
